Week 31

Baby is having a dance party inside of me sometimes! It's getting very uncomfortable sitting in chairs, even our comfy couches. I think Bill will be very disappointed if I can't go see the new Harry Potter due to discomfort! Baby likes hanging out on my right side right under my ribs. It's a happening place! I am extremely tired and don't want to do a thing when I get home from work. Lack of energy is no fun. The doctor estimates she'll be about 6lbs 10 ounces or 7 lbs when she's born. Everything's looking good and we are seeing the doctor every 2 weeks now. At week 36, we'll have weekly appointments. Nine more weeks to go!

Week 24

Growing bigger! I saw the baby move for the first time. It's weird looking down at your stomach and seeing it do things you have no control of. Kind of a freaky "Aliens" moment! Everything's looking good. Doctor says the baby is healthy. Next check-up is at 28 weeks.

Baby's Room

We wanted to thank everyone for all the wonderful support and baby items from the baby shower. Here are some pictures of the baby's room, which would not have been possible without your help. We decided on a name, which you can see on the wall.

21 Weeks

Belly shots!! I'm definitely getting bigger. I'm wearing the Bella Band to extend the life of pre-pregnancy pants. I am still able to button up all of my pants, but it's getting tight! Maternity pants are very hard for me to find. Most are dowdy, not stylish, and are not very flattering. Thankfully, I can get away with capris for most of the time. Too bad I can't wear sweatpants to work. Some tend to think they're not very professional---they obviously were never pregnant! I wore my first maternity shirt last week and it was so comfortable. I need the extra room. I've put on about 15 pounds so far. No real cravings, although this weekend I had a huge sweet-tooth and can't believe all the junk food I was inhaling.

21 Weeks

Bill and I have found out we are having a girl!!!! Bill will no longer be able to call Alaska his princess much longer. The picture on the left is a 3D image of the baby's profile. I'm thinking the baby may be getting my chunky cheeks just from seeing this. The upper right picture is of the baby's foot. You'll have to click on the image to enlarge it in order to better see. The bottom picture is the baby laying on her side with the arm up by her head. Time to start thinking of baby names! Can't wait to shop for cute little girl outfits! I'm thinking she'll have lots of frilly dresses. Who can resist?!?

Ultrasound 16 Weeks

There's baby on its back with legs up over the head. Click on the picture to get a bigger view. The doctor says the skeleton looks great and baby has long legs. Wonder where those come from? We tried to find out the sex, but baby wasn't cooperating. It did moon us at one point (unfortunately, not the angle the doctor needed), but quickly assumed its prior position. We could clearly see hands and legs moving around. Next ultrasound is April 13th.

16 Weeks

I feel a lot bigger than I actually look. I've put on about 8-10 pounds, depending on which scale is used. I have bought a Belly Band to help extend the life of pre-pregnancy pants. Bill calls it my Fat Pants band. I still fit into all my pants and can do up all buttons and zippers. However, that's not to say my pants don't feel tight. They're definitely uncomfortable after eating.

11 Weeks

Not too much difference from 7 weeks. Some pants are beginning to feel tighter, however.

Baby at 12 Weeks

Now that looks like a baby. No more alien! We got to see the baby's fingers forming. It didn't look like much to us, but the ultra sound tech pointed it out. Baby is healthy and looking good! Next ultrasound is at 16 weeks.

Baby at 11 Weeks (2/5/09)

Baby's getting bigger. We got to hear the heartbeat. The heartbeat was about 171 BPM, which according to an old wives tale indicates it's a boy (higher heart rates = boy). We also saw the baby move! The top picture is of the baby facing the camera. You'll see an alien-looking face on the upper left side (must take after Bill). You may need to click on the picture to get a close look. The other two are profile shots with the head on the left side.

Baby at 7 Weeks

Here is I am at 7 weeks. I have a bit of a belly starting to form. I am not looking forward to wearing baby pants.

Baby's the
size of a jellybean and all heartbeat. We got to see the heartbeat, but couldn't hear it.
